Hi
I am new here and I hope you people will be able to help me.
I have a just purchased a 53 plate CLK270 but it has an air con problem. I have had a technician look at it and we have two problems:

1. The right hand side mixer motor only seems to blow cold when running but when you carry out an auto reset it actually blows out warm air for a few seconds when it is on its cycle. The right hand side temperature adjuster does not seem to do anything

2 There is a connector underneath the Parktronic indicator which connects to the side fascia vents and it has no wire going to it. I presume there is a wire supposed to go to it. If so where does it come from.

Thanks in advance

I have a sneaking suspicion this might be the control unit. I have seen a secondhand one but its slightly different as mine has got AC rest on it.

Is there an on line wiring diagram for the wiring to the vent connector as I am not getting any air out of the side fascia vents.

We are sure this the heater box has been out

the flaps directing air, or not, to the side vents are controlled by servomotors, as are all the flaps. they are all wired in parallel on a black ribbon - you will have seen this on your travels?

you have a problem with no hot air, can we confirm that is no hot to the r/h/s screen, side and feet nozzles? in the test did you check the r/h/s temp control to see if the control unit is reading its values correctly.

when you start the car do you hear a clicking noise inside the dash for about 30 seconds, that stops untill you start up again?

There is no clicking noise from the car. Yes I have seen this cable/ribbon

The tech said that he could see the linkage on the right hand motor moving when he set in reset mode and felt the hot air come out of the rh vent(the motor had been running). I cannot say if it was to the floor or not. I will find out later.

My other concern is the motor unit onto of the dash underneath the parktronic unit. It has no wiring to it. Do you know what this unit/motor is called. At least if I can trace this cable I can get him to put the dash back together then I will take it to out local Mercedes specialist.

Sorry to be a pain

no idea from memory, but seeing is believing - any chance of some pictures?

also when you say no hot air from r/h/s, this strongly suggests you mean you ARE getting cold air ok. or would it be right to say no air at all from r/h/s??? we can often assume the wrong things from others posts........

can you answer these two points please?

that wire has to be in there somewhere, it obviously should be connected, but as to where it is now hanging we can only guess. even MB do not know where things are when they are not where they are supposed to be!!!

Sorry AP Yes I am getting cold air from the vent. As for the wire I suppose it must be somewhere -probably behind the heater box its probably been removed before hence the missing connector. Do you know what the unit is in the dash?.

glad to hear that crazy vern. 212 deg is quite hot for the sensor. almost makes you think it is open circuit or u/s doesn't it? i am sure you have sussed this already though ;).

Back again lads. Okay story so far . I had an ex Merc technician look at this with me(I am a Peugeot/Hyundai tech) and then a Merc specialist look at this car.

Ok my problem was the evap sensor/missing connector and rhs motor. I also had the parktronic not working. After losing a couple of hundred to the specialist and the tech I decided that I would take it on myself. Armed with a Snap On Scanner and Wis I found a SAM module in the boot and replaced the interior CAN/Parktronic fuse taking in to account my wallet is a lot lighter . I replace the evap sensor wire which was tucked up behind the heater and fixed the rh motor at the same time--Sorted--NO- Now the left hand flap(mixer) will work fine except when it is set on face vent. It will not blow out hot air (even though it is set on hot) and the right hand one does. The motor rotates fully on reset. I have a spare motor so I am going to fit that. Do I have to remove the whole heater box or can I pull it forward to remove the fan housing section.

Thanks TV I have already got a working secondhand one and fitted it. It was working okay but now has gone out of sync again.

It only happens when you try to put hot air out of the passenger side fascia vents. Any other combo is fine . Can Mercedes reset the synchronisation through their machine?.
