C215 CL500 Fuel Filler Cap

Hi all.

The sympathetic restoration of my car continues, there’s no a huge amount to do but I’m into sorting out the smaller details.

One of those is the rubber strap that stops the fuel filler cap being lost has snapped.

Is there such a thing as a replacement strap or do I need to buy a new filler cap?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not referenced against a chassis number, but I think it will be A2154700005 for the cap, and A0019902392 for the plastic rivet that holds it in place

They are available on ‘the bay’ under a fiver!
(of course double check it’s the right one before ordering).

A complete fuel cap is about £13.

the CL500 used the same cap as many other models such as same year A-Class W168…..

My local MB dealer always have some in stock, they're a common replacement due to the strap perishing.
Interestingly the strap and cap came separately, although ordered as one item!
