Anyone else with a cls-220d that can advise on typical fuel efficiency.
On my daily commute (42 miles each way, only 2-3 in town), I am getting 41mpg into work (avg speed 59mph, journey +/-45mins). On the way home it is slower, my journey takes about 1 hr and I get 46mpg. I would have thought it to be the other way round.
in all of my previous MB’s I have managed to get close to or just above manufacturers combined figures. In this case I am significantly lower than the claimed 57mpg.
how typical are these figures?
could it be that there has been a “software fix” applied before I got the car that means I would never get the claimed figures
I was considering a remap to see if it will improve things, but note that nobody seems to offer a user reprogrammable option such as the bluefin / GAD WT4. Does this mean it’s an ECU on the bench job?? If so, does anyone have good experience with the multi channel tuning boxes instead (I may want to remove it later once the mileage starts to climb a bit) ??
