Please help,

I have a Mercedes C220 CDI W203 model (2001) and just got into car last night, as remote keys work fine etc. Put Key in ignition and it wont turn?

I have tried the spare but still no luck, any ideas?

TIA

H

Welcome Hornet, sorry to say but it sounds like the EIS is faulty, new ign switch needed!

Just for the moment put the spare key in the ignition lock and leave it there for 90 minutes.

I will post back more info shortly and it could be a faulty ign switch

I wish people didnt do that, re-connecting the battery can cause so many more faults, rear SAMS blown and so on! but, saying that, a battery reset can be a stort term fix if the EIS is going faulty!

I note that can also be instigated by a low battery, and that STAR can detect this

Star will only tell you that the EIS has detected undervoltage to the control module!

Well it is as SAM said,,who knows, it may never come back, batteries get a caning with the weather that we have had of late, and it could have been a low voltage thing.

lets just hope:D
