c220 cdi
Hi,
can anyone help me out, i have a c220 cdi 6 speed manuel. Yesterday the car lost power and would'nt rev over 3000rpm, we just made it home when a friend said it could be the air mass meter. He also said that by disconnecting the battery it sometimes resets itself to which i done.I reconnecded the battery and the wipers, indicators, central locking and fuel gauge failed to work and the computer was flashing up 2 malfunctions one saying the anti-skid control. I checked all fuses but all seem to be ok. Since then the car now wont start, not even the key will go in to actvate the ignition, it seems to have shut down, battery is ok and the head lights work fine. Is there a way of resetting it . Has anyone got any ideas.
Thanks

That was the worst thing you could have done.

Its sounds to me like you have fried the ream sam.

Its needs to go on a star machine to find the first fault and now the 2nd fault.

Welcome to the forums!

Did you try turning it off & restarting it before disconnecting the battery?
Mine did the same a few weeks ago & when I turned it off & restarted it was fine and has been ever since. Also had MB look at it and it had no codes stored either.

I had exactly this problem just over 12 months ago. Fear not it will start again. I left mine alone for about 3 days so it could sulk and when I returned the engine started first time, don't ask me why, I was just grateful.

I've run a thread on Engines about the same fault you're experiencing with the MAF. It turned out to be two faults.

The MAF
The, I think it's, M55 Inlet Port Shut Off Motor.

Hope this helps.

The inport shut off is common,

By doing a battery reset, i fear the o/p has fried one of the sams!!

Thats a lot of dosh i fear to sort the now, 2, faults out!!

Thats OK this section is for other things and not faults.

In your case I would start a new thread in the engine section

One of the mods will move all of this away (please)
