C220 CDi 2002 Internal Lighting

Hello

I have an issue with my C220 CDi with the internal center dashboard lighting. The lighting is very dim and I cannot make it brighter. The Drivers dash instrument lighting is OK and I can dim and bright that with the black reset knob no problem.

I have tried the main lights switch in different positions but makes no difference to the center dash.

How can I make the center lighting brighter. Any guidance would be very welcome
