c220 cdi automtic 2001,driving problem

c220 cdi automatic 2001.hy,have just joined so am new to this.i need help,i own a 2001 c220 cdi automatic(85000 mls full history) performs perfectly in every way except!! when holding a constant speed anything between 5mph and 30mph,if i try and accelerate from this constant speed the engine does not respond until i press the accelerator down about 1/2 inch then the car suddenly speeds away,if instead of trying to accelerate from this constant speed ,i take my foot off the accelerator and then press it down again the engine responds straight away.if anyone has experienced this or knows the cause please let me know. thanks nick2

could be numerous things from dodgy airmass to faulty throttle position sensor etc etc,
your description is hard to get an exact picture of what is happening, problems like this are easier to find with a demonstation of fault from customer then a test drive then read out codes on star (if there is any)

Same car, same issue (never thought too much of it as improves as car reaches Full Operating Temp after 20-30 mins). Well described Nick. Will be watching this space.
