Two weeks ago the coolant warning light came on along with the viscous fan. The EPC warning light has also came on. I have changed the air flow meter and MAF but the problem is the same. I have also noticed a leak in the drivers footwell and was told it was clutch fluid, there is also a loss of power as the car is in safe mode. Are all these problems connected and does anyone know how to fix them? Thanks.

Are you sure that the liquid on the floor is Hydraulic oil and not coolant .Sounds a bit of a coincidence to me with the coolant warning light coming on . Maybe there is a coolant leak or a leak from the Heating system.

Have a feel of it between your fingers. if it feels oily and slippery and wont dry off within a short space of time it is oil. The coolant will feel more like water and will dry off quickly unless there is a fault with the head and the engine oil has got into the coolant and vice versa. Check your oil in sump .Have a feel of the oil off the dipstick. What colour is it? Any traces of a white colour on the dipstick?

you might have 2 problems here, if the fuse for the engine control blow, the fan will run continuosly with the engine light being on. the fluid leak could be you coolant which still will be slippery if it has anti freeze in it, taste it, it'll be bitter or the same colour as the anti freeze.

It isnt oil, its slippery water that wont dry. Could there be a leak in the coolant? everything was fine until the coolant light came on thats what started the problems. Would this explain the loss of power and how do i remedy this?

Thanks, much appreciated.

might it be the heater matrix? Or teh hoses feeding it?
Thats the probable cause, as its the only thing cabin side of the bulkhead that has coolant

Surely the car is an auto and the box is sending fluid up the wiring harness into the gearbox ECU
