C220 CDI SRS Fault

After three visits to the dealer starting February 14th the dealer decided they needed more equipment and ordered it from MB Germany 21st March 2005. After many phone calls they say they cannot get a delivery date from Germany :evil: . I have written to the CEO of MB UK and have two letters saying they are monitoring the situation but they cannot do anything for me its down to the dealer. Talk about catch 22 and the mythical MB efficiancy!! :lol: Today, 4 months later, Mercedes Customer Services say they will look into it and ring me back, guess what.......no return phone call!! :lol:

I can't help with your problem, just recount my experience.
I put in a corrosion warranty claim back in November. Waited until March and chased it - In hand apparently but there is a backlog. Since then, 4 supposed call backs failed to materialise. I rang up last week and when told that no-one was available - can they take a message? _ I politely said the following "No, because no one ever calls me back and I'm very annoyed. Please put me through to a manager. I don't care which, just keep going up the tree until you find me one." Hey presto - 30 seconds later and I am in conversation with the guy who I have been chasing for the last few weeks! Did he agree that a 7 month wait for approval is unnaceptable?
1/2 hour later, my car is booked in and a loan car arranged! Official approval suddenly doesn't seem to be an issue.

Moral of the story - sometimes they need a little motivation. Sad but true. MB Cust services is a joke so don't bother with them, just speak to someone high up at the dealer (Sales/service manager, Dealer Principal etc). They'll usually get things rolling, if just to get rid of you.
If your dealer doesn't have this tool, another will, suggest they might like to find one!
