Hey guys, do you know what engine oil a C220 Cdi W203 takes?
Also, can you check the oil level when the car is hot (as in been used).

Thanks

2010 '60' Ford Mondeo 2.0TDCi Zetec (sorry)
any oil with MB approval 229.1 or higher is fine for that engine (same as mine) it says in the handbook. i use castrol magnatec semi synthetic. looking online etc and at parts factors like the euro car parts website, will tell you that you need fully synthetic, but it really isnt the case with this age of car and that engine. i trust the info in the handbook, as MB wrote it!

as for checking the oil, I believe it should be checked hot after standing 5 mins anyhow, officially

As above but you must wait 10 mins to allow the oil to drain

You can check the oil level when the car is hot or cold but to find the actual level you need the instructions which are not in the handbook.

There are posts on this site which tell you how to do it

Hi I have a 09 c220d it went through the mot tonight however the inspector said there was an oil leak from passanger side front area. Very little oil has leaked and if you look down from the top you can see oil on the splash guard cover right at the very front! Any ideas? Car seems to be running fine!
