C220 Diesel auto. Avantgarde or Elagance?

Hi as in my last thread iam buying a merc for the first time so i need some help? it will def be a C220 diesel auto but need advice on models.

Hi,

Go for an AG one, preferably a 54 plate onwards when it was facelifted. A superior car altogether.

Upgrades to suspension, interior etc, engines electronics. All in all it is a more reliable car. Whatever you do try and get one, they're just "better". Avoid pre 2003 cars too, as they aren't galvanised and a bit rusty.

You can tell also that it is a facelift as the headlights are clear glass and the dashboard has round clocks for the speedo and rev counter.

Avantgarde and elegance is a personal choice. I prefer the elegance interior in a C personally. Others don't. Then again, I also prefer the avantgarde E class interior on the current model so its swings and roundabouts.

Suspension wise, you just need to drive them and see which you like. The elegance can seem a bit wallowy - but then again the ride on poor roads can be better - horse for courses.
