C220 Engine cutting out

Can anyone help C220 cdi Engine symbol illuminated, starts ok, drives ok but if you exceed 3000rpm in any gear engine cuts out completely Stop restart and away goes untill 3000 exceeded again. Any ideas. Thanks.

It must be a WDB203 for that year Tom

Sounds to me like a fuel problem, either a quantity control valve on the fuel rail, or and injector issue, the codes need to be read and the actual values read to see whats causing it.

Did have fuel problem with one tank not emptying Solved it by filling up completely Temporary measure cant run to low.

Yes Ellsy says fuel, and I think so to, it has to bee, if it was the CPS it would cut on heat,rather than RPM, see what I can find in the morning

It wouldnt supprise me if the to faults are linked, possibly high pressure pump as that can cause the tank issue, and may be causing the lack off fuel pressure and cutting out.
