C220D Kickdown causes ESP and engine management light.

Hi gang. First time on here. I have a 2008 C220CDI sport tourer and when I boot it I loose power and the ESP light comes on and I get a message saying function not available and a picture of a car doing the twist. After a few times turning off and on both the lights will go out and we are back to normal until I push it again. I have changed the brake light switch and the air pressure (map) sensor. This seemed to fix it and it pulled well but has strangely come back again. I'm hoping its not a gear box connector plate as I believe this can be expensive. Any ideas will be much appreciated.
