I have read about the above in the forums but is mine different.
The gearbox (5 speed auto electronic) sticks in 2nd gear but I still have the full rev range. When I turn off the ignition and restart the problem disappears. The problem also goes if I turn on the ignition without starting the car and hold down the accelerator for 5 seconds. After the 5 seconds I turn off the ignition and release the accelerator pedal then wait 3 minutes before starting the car.
Will a new MAF cure my problem?
Another fault I have is that if I coast up to a roundabout and apply the throttle gently whilst going round the roundabout sometimes the gearbox does not engage immediately. It then engages with a jolt. Any ideas?
I have had the car from new and it has done 38,000 miles from new
