I think I have located the source of the oil Leak on my C240 after several cleans and watching it while it warmed up, it appears to be dripping from the bottom of the Oil Cooler next to the Oil Filter Housing and it looks like the solution is; to take the Cooler off (4 Torx fasteners ), and put a new gasket on. Anyone know if it is as simple as it appears ?? and is it a known / common leak area ??????
It sure creates one hell of a mess because it drops onto the serpentine Belt and goes everywhere in its firing line . I am also going to have to change the belt as the oil has caused contaminated and degraded it .
Thanks

Quite staight forward but..... there is a small retangular "end plate" just below the cooler that is known to leak. I think they are modified now but can't be sure. Make sure it is the cooler & not just this plate. It's about 1" X 3/4".

I cant see the plate is it part of the cooler or the block ?
I ordered 2 seals today shown on the merc dealers computer
couldn't see anything else associated with the cooler other than the hoses??

Got the Parts on Saturday £12 for 2 quite small O type rings that sit where the Cooler buts onto the OIl Filter assembly .
Replacement was relatively simple I removed the Top hose just to improve access then removed the 4 splined bolts , loosen the Oil Hose clips to allow rotational access to the cooler and pop the old seals out, the old ones were quite hard and had compressed all but flush with the face of the assembly inserted the new seals, reassembled, tightened the bolts and hoses, replaced the top hose and topped up oil and water due to losses.

All seems ok so far......... looking at the condition of the seals I would imagine this is a common problem on these cars. Boy did it make a mess of my Drivebelt while it was dripping and that spattered the front of the engine Bay so New DRivebelt was installed at the same time as the front of engine clean up operation
