C240 sport V6 oil filter

Need a bit of help please.
Want to change engine oil filter, after taking top off
oil filter holder the filter is held in place by a central
plastic spindle. This has a sprung centre, does this have to be
pressed down fully to remove old filter.
I'm a new member, Keith.

welcome keith, as i remember you just pull of old filter cartridge off and replace fully on to housing, should be that simple, 25nm tighting, anymore could spilt it!!!

Thanks for your welcome Colechelle.
I will have another try with it. It's not ready for a service yet but the
oil was coloured so I changed it but couldn't change the filter. The cars great smooth, quiet and very powerful. I'm very pleased with it.
