my c240 seems to average about 22mpg day to day and 27 on a run does anybody know if i can improve this in any way. mapping, chips etc. have had the car about 3 and half years and its always been about the same. cheers
seems very low. I did better with my E240 - 35 on a run and 22-26 round town. i guess it depends on where you are driving and when but that does seem very low. Do check your tyre pressures and try changing your driving style - let the car coast more and use the brakes less.
I went from Derbyshire to Minehead and back yesterday, which I do about 6 or 7 times a year. Somehow, I managed to get exactly the same mileage to litres in my 18 yr old Carlton GSi shed (3.0 petrol) as I normally do in my E300 Turbodiesel. Should I be annoyed?
I'm hoping it has something to do with a bunged up EGR valve which is coming off the engine tomorrow. Either that, or the MAF sensor that I have just replaced, but not yet tried...
By the way, the GSi was reporting 28.6 mpg average.
well after having my 320 and now own a 200 cdi cant say how impressed i was going to kent last week 52.2mph, was gutted after parting with the 320, was very good fun, but with fuel costs as they are im now sold to derv!!!!
I've got a C200k and the mpg is not good IMHO but, to be fair, I'm only doing 8-10 miles to work and back per day. I'm trying the "turn the air con" option at the moment to see how it improves.
