C250d Estate
Hi all, thanks for the acceptance. I'm about to chop my c200 in for a C250d Estate. I'd a 2017( 67) with 40k on the clock. I'm buying from a dealership. Any advise on what to look out for?

Thanks

K

Hello and welcome

Have all the software updates been done? There’s engine ones that can lead to nox sensor fails. The ad blue pump can also fail leading to a ££££ bill due to it having to be replaced with the tank.
If it’s from Mercedes the 12 month warranty you’ll get “should” cover any nox or ad blue issues.
One question dealers won’t ask is what are you going to be using it for? It’s important as modern diesels do not like short journeys. It leads to DPF issues

Thanks, are there any tell tale signs noises that I can keep an ear out for? My ususal daily commute is arout 30miles, but I generally do 2 or 3 80 Mile trips a week. Hopefully that's enough?

No noises that I’m aware of, just warning lights on the dash. Ask if the NOX sensors have been replaced/ upgraded

Good advice above, looking at buying a EU6 diesel I’d try and do a deal (haggle) on extending the warranty from one to two years if it’s bought from MB

I'm very pleased with mine. I was told that the Nox sensors were not the iffy ones when I had the software upgrade, but I do worry about them.
What variant are you looking at?
