Hey folks, I’m really hoping you can help me here. I took my 2019 c300d to be inspected due to juddering under braking on the motorway which I could feel under my foot while on the brake pedal. I was told I have a slight play in drivers side track rod end (advisory) and that I needed a wheel alignment too. The wheel alignment was done and the car is not juddering but is now drifting to the left or the steering wheel is not straight as I have the steering wheel pointing slightly to the right it goes straight. I just went to go home from work this morning and the steering feels absolutely all over the place. If I turn to the right on the motorway it feels normal but if I start to turn the wheel left slowly I can feel resistance to turn the wheel. And also at one point when I was taking a corner going left the steering went really light like I had no grip and I was on ice, the drivers side wheel felt completely loose. I have absolutely no idea what’s going on :( the steering just felt all over the place but it feels like something on right hand front is completely wrong. Has anyone had something like this before?

If anyone can recommend a merc specialist in west London I’d massively appreciate

First Id be doing is taking it back to the alignment place. First thing they should do is lock the steering wheel central and then base the alignment around that.....if they could not even return it with a straight wheel I don't hold out much hope of a decent alignment. Can you post up your before and after alignment chart??

Well they said my track rod has a slight play and the lower arm is worn so even if they tracked it again I’ll still have issues until they’re fixed so because I have warranty I can get it all done for 250 for both track rods and lower arms. The person before me did have 20’ amg alloys on before and the car isn’t designed for that size so I’m aware it could have wore quicker. I’d rather be safe and get these done and then we can see after how it is

Why do you have to pay at all if you have warranty?
Because they said it’s worn and they refused to replace so I kicked off on trust pilot and they agreed to pay for the parts and I pay labour. They’ve fixed the car today and now they’ve said someone’s hit the front of the car and cracked the grill. They are going to repair it but so annoying

So they supplied it worn and should have replaced it BEFORE delivery....so that's warranty. I certainly would be as far as the CRA 2015 is concerned.....assuming you have had it under 6 months.

Ah I didn’t buy from a dealer and I’ve put 5000 miles on the car. It’s okay. £240 for both track rods and lower arms is not bad. About to find out how bad the crash damage is now

Gotcha.....hope the damage is minor and the repair wont be noticeable.
