Hi everyone,

Getting a bit stuck here. I am still having problems with the electrics on my car. Took it to a garange and they cannot find out what is wrong with it. Computer shows no faults. They checked earth straps, fuse boxes and battery connection. Do not what else to do but take it into Merc and await a large bill for something, which i think is a simple problem somewhere.

Problem - Cannot get into the car in the mornings even more so when it is cold. When i do get in the car starts but the dashboard display, radio, heater, headlamps and interior light goes off and on for a period on 10 minutes. Engine never shuts off. Once driving and warm all problems dissappear until the following morning. Have had one instant when the car would not start as the key could not turn in the ignition.

Any help would be appreciated as i think i have looked at the most common things.

Thanks.

Just thought i would update everyone on this problem. The car has been checked in at the stealer and needs a new EIS, which will cost £700.00 including fitting.

I think this is really bad that components like this just fail causing hell. If MB know there is a problem with their EIS they should make the part cheaper to obtain.
