If you can find the correct one. Yes. They normally just held in by a simple clip.

Thanks for your replies. Tried autodoc but they didn’t, have the right one, so it looks like it’s the dealers. Steve.

Hi, Bought the Thermostat from MB Newcastle. Had a quick look at the job and noticed the plug that goes to the sensor is very tight. Anyone with advice on best way to remove it? Thanks Steve.

You have to ease the grey tab out first then the plug slides off. There’s a video on this on YouTube. A German guy is showing you how to replace the thermostat and he ends up breaking the grey tab because he,s too heavy handed. Steve.

So decided to change my thermostat today, after figuring out how to remove the plug. Car has been running 60-70 degrees max. Having watched the German guy,s video on YouTube I was expecting to have to remove the intercooler pipe to allow for the longer thermostats bolt removal. My car is a 10 plate and the intercooler pipe was well clear of the bolt. Turned out to be a 15 minute job. You just have to push a small rubber pipe out of the way. Car is running around 90 degrees now. Seems like the newer cars were modified to make this job very easy. Steve:)

Yes, pulling pipes off without releasing the clips and not draining the header tank.
