has anyone wrapped the standard grill on the front of the Mercedes c350 w204.

Was thinking of changing the grill or the other option is wrap the current one?

A wrap won't last and will peel on the sharp bends and edges. Hydrographic printing is far better.

Whilst i fully agree that Hydrographics are the better option for ease and finish. I carbon wrapped the grile and foglight surrounds myself on my Octavia and that was still perfect the day I sold it nearly two years later. That's not because I'm some uber wrapping genius, far from it. It was more that I am CDO, used decent stuff (3M in my case) and took my time to ensure it wouldn't peel.

A sheet of 3M wrap big enough to do a grille quite cheap (circa £20-30). No idea how much Hydrographics would be.

Iain, if you are going to do this yourself then some tips.

- Remove the grille from the car to ensure you can get access to all the areas easily
- Use a hairdryer to heat up the wrap to allow you to get it into all the nooks and crannies. However be careful not to stretch it too much otherwise it won't stick.
- Unless you intend to remove the wrap then be sure to 'key' the surface with some 2000 grit sandpaper, rinse it off and wipe down with IPA. I managed to get a spare grille extremely cheap off eBay (£20 vs the near £180 direct from Skoda - Mercedes are even more expensive)
- Take your time doing it and learn how to 'overlap and slice' to join seams. Watch this video that explains it. It makes the finish a LOT neater and helps stop it peeling.

They have Knifeless cutting tape now but no idea how much it is.

This one is also worth a watch.

If you're paying someone to do it then ignore the above! :D

Yep. Hydrographic printing/dipping all the same thing.
