C350e charger flap stuck

Hi, my charger flap has been intermittently getting stuck on my c350e and now for the last couple of weeks stuck completely.

I’m sat at a Mercedes dealership now while they take a look. I asked if this was a common or known fault and was told no, but I’ve seen others posting about similar and that Mercedes do know about it.

My concern is that my car is no longer under warranty and I’m wondering just how much I’m going to fork out for this ridiculous malfunction.

They’ve already told me it’ll be £176 to run the diagnostic. Any advice please on what might be required and how much I should be looking to pay for it to be fixed?

Bit late now but if it's out of warranty l'd have taken it to a good Merc independent specialist with Merc diagnostics. Good luck. Oh and welcome by the way.

Welcome!

As above, let them diagnose the fault and then take the car to a good independent. If you intend letting MB do the work ask for a goodwill gesture from them especially if the car is <50k miles

I had the problem with the charger flap stuck closed, to resolve this try the following:
1. Lock and unlock the vehicle and listen for the lock behind the flap engaging and disengaging.
2. If the lock does not function (actuate) then you need a new central locking actuator (A0008206205) to replace this you will have to remove the bumper.
3. If you hear the lock working then gently prize off the flap cover exposing the inner flap.
4.You will now see the lock pin that can be rotated using a torque screwdriver. Rotate it to allow the inner flap to disengage with the pin and open.
5. Now using the torgue screw driver rotate the pin while gently pushing and releasing it, it will release with some patiance.
6. After it has been released use a small screwdriver to depress the lock mechaism all the way downand spray with wd40 using a cannister with a long thin applicator.
7. Spray the lock several times pressing it in and out.
8. Now try the locating pin in the lock attached to the inner flap, with persiverance you can free up the lock machamism, once it is working again refit the outer cover.

This process is quite fiddly but it saves hours of work removing the bumper to fit a new lock mechanism.
