Hi,
I have a pre-face lift C230K as some of you know, one thing that has annoyed me about it is the fact it is so low spec. cloth seats, no A/C, no rear electric windows, etc, and as the car has 60/40 split folding rear seats (rare option apparently) and I have been looking for a black leather interior with rear headrests and 60/40 split folding rear seats since 2003 and not been able to find one.
Well I have managed to source one (accidently, as I was enquiring about a electric rear window blind) It has everything I want, now as this interior has electric seats and they are heated as well, i know I,ll need the wiring and some control units, can any one help in what else I,ll need as me and the owner will be removing the interior together and as the car is about 100 miles away I don,t want to keep going back to it.
I think I,ll put the electric windows in my car too so i,ll have to remove that loom as well.
Any thoughts and comments, regarding any aspect of this retro fit will be gladly recieved.

You need to check on the years of the cars,,the door controllers that do the seats as well changed a few times over the years.

As you know I will give you any diagrams and help that you need where I can,,so do keep the VIN of the donor car.

There are differences in that some only have controllers in the rears. late ones in both doors.

Time is short as tomorrow is last night for 2 weeks

Hi Malc,
Both cars are 1997 on a P plate, as they were both prefacelift cars i did,nt think there were any door control units in either car.
Very good idea regarding the VIN No. of the doner car, i would of forgotten that.
Off on holiday then Malc? so we are not going to be graced with your company on Saturday at MB World then?

You must not forget to take the comfort relay control in the front fuse box

Thanks Malc, I realised I would need the comfort relay as well as the electric seats go through it. But you have confused me as I always thought the comfort relay was in the boot adjacent to the battery, and in the drivers side footwell cable trough on my C43.

There is one relay in the front that drives the comfort pack in the rear, it is shown in one of the diagrams it is a K26 off the top of my head

Hi,
Looking at the link that you put up from the Russian EPC, the wiring loom that shows the comfort control I interpreted as the power supply to the comfort control unit, which is already existing on mine car I believe though I will check on the online EPC later, my existing CF unit just lacks the ability to control the additional rear windows and seats, so my belief would be just to remove the looms from the doner vehicle and remove the pins from the CF unit plug and just replacing them in my car together with the doner vehicle's CF unit, though I will have to ensure that the plugs for the CF unit are the same on both cars. Any thoughtscomments to my thinking?
Is the seat heating control unit fitted behind the dash?

That was my thoughts as Dec does seem very knowledgable regarding the earlier 202 electrics, maybe he can confirm this or offer an opinion on the interior swap.
Thanks for your time Malc and do have a good holiday, relax and put your feet up.

You could always just swop the seat fabrics from one to another. This could be a lot easier than getting the electric, heated seats to work as well as possibly having to cut holes in your wood for the heated switches - they never match the perfect rounded way that Merc finish the holes.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply, I did think about that but as I,m getting the complete interior the dash panelling and switches will be supplied too, the only thing is i,ll have to get another gear lever surround switch panel as the doner vehicle has,nt got folding mirrors and mine has.
