I would stay away from both. they are prone to rusting, especially C43. I had a c36 for 4 years. Great car and really looked after it but could not keep the rust at bay. Why not consider a 2004 C55 or a clk, both V8 and Galvanised panels and there are few been for sale for awhile. Haggle away!

cost probably, but agree, C55 has to be the one to get

Yes, you're right - the C43 was indeed the first proper AMG off a production line so to speak. If the provenance is legit on this one then it looks like a nice example: http://www.pistonheads.com/classifi...-t-mercedes-benz-c-class-c43-4dr-auto/1433380 - bit pricey, but I'm sure you could haggle them down in this economic climate. If you're in that area then it might be worth a go-see and test drive at the very least whatever the case though.

I got that c43 from the last link thanks for all our posts guys, i know some people said to stay away from the c43 but after driving it, i have not felt acceleration like that since my impreza sti i am now a proper member as i actually own a MB now YAYYYYY
