Hi
I’m looking for some help with the roof on my E class.
Car wasn’t driven for 2-4 months, started it up but turnover was slow so the battery was run down a bit. Roof went down but would t go back up, I probably should have left the engine running for a while but instead tried to manually raise the roof as the weather was turning. Followed the instructions released the hydraulic pressure etc but couldn’t get the turn buttons out. Drove the car to a friends garage to store got there and the roof worked. A week later lowered the roof and the two side plastic caps flew off when trying to close. Long story short got the roof down took it to Mercedes dealer and was told 3hours to strip and 6 hours to replace cables + parts £1500+ cost but they had got the roof up. When I told the service girl that maybe the cable was lose because I had released the pressure she spoke to someone and came back saying ok but still 3 hours to investigate could it be because I released the pressure and can I turn the pressure back up again ???
