Calling all SLK owners

Were gonna be buying a secondhand SLk soon, looking at getting a 1999 T or V. i was wondering what you all thought of your SLk`s good and bad points and if you could give any imput positive or negative on what driving and owning one was like for you. any ideas on what we should look for in particular when buying second hand SLK`s.

Hi I have only owned my slk 230 k for a short while.its got 15000 miles and its fantastic. Its not a merclaren for handling but for the none racing drivers amongst us its more than enough fun to drive. If you want descent power out-put without silly running costs go for a 230 kompressor and try and go a bit newer to a 2000 plus model its better all round. theres plenty out there so don't rush

Definitely make sure you buy the facelift (post 2000) model - I've had both and the improvements to the steering and seat comfort are worth having.

These cars are pretty bullet proof and much better made than the current model. If the mileage is low for its year check the roof works smoothly with no jerks otherwise you could be in for an expensive motor replacement. Also check the roof does not rattle when closed which could indicate signs of accident damage or an alignment problem.

Its a buyers market at this time of year.
