Can any one tell me if my E class (year late 2000) would have had the modification carried out to prevent oil migration from leaking magnets / camshaft sensor through the wiring loom into the ECU? I've recently read about this problem on this forum but have not been able to check due to being offshore. I've not had any signs of problems as mentioned on the forum but the car has had full MBSH so would this have been carried out at some time ? I know you don't have crystal balls but is it likely that it would have been carried out during servicing ? If not would I get it done by the stealers at no cost to me ?

Thanks for your help / advice in advance.

Cheers Malcolm, I went into panic mode there as every problem I read about on this forum ends up happening to my car !

On a totally unrelated matter can you tell me how the glass on the drivers side wing mirror is secured. The wife has informed me that another car has caught the mirror with his mirror (his broke off so 1- nil to Mercedes) with the only damage being the glass has popped out. Is it likely that retaining clips have been damaged or will it just push back on ??
Thanks again for your help

It's 200 Kompressor.

I think that car can be affected, if this is the case why not buy the adapter plug and fit it before the problems start.

Black will confirm this, if it could be a problem

I do not know the part number, but just the rocker cover taking off, Ollie will tell you exactly
