Hi Everyone,
I am just wondering if there is a significant snow fall will my CLK roof take the weight?
Would be a fantastic excuse not to go in to work, but all jokes aside does anyone know if there is a weight limit?

We won't get enough snow to trouble your roof.

I hope you are right, temperatures are dropping and my boiler pipes outside are trying to freeze. Think the temperatures are going to be more trouble than the snow.
Lets see what the morning brings

The roofs are (all!) rated to withstand a snow load of 70kg.

Thanks for the reply. That quite a weight and handy to know. If we have that much snow I won't be driving I will be with the kids playing.

Daft question.

Has anyone ever seen a convertible with a collapsed roof due to snow?

These cars are made to be sold to people in the Baltic regions of Europe . I wouldn't give it a moments more thought .

Nope, the convertible roofs are rated to the same as the all metal roofs as are rated to the same as pano roofs. The snow load test doesn’t differentiate between them.

I wouldn't worry about it.

Well we got 9 inches of snow again last night at I can't be bothered to dig my way out the house. Decided to leave it in the garage and clean it instead :)

Virtually nothing here either, but rather too chilly to be out on the bike.

I discovered how useless mine is in the snow too, got stuck everywhere I went, but then I found the traction control button, switch it to 'off' floored the throttle and hey-presto, no light dusting or deep snow drift stops my Mercedes ;)

Came out today to find the car with 9" icicles hanging from the rear spoiler, perhaps I should have taken a pic but my first reaction was to swipe them off with my shoe and take the weight off, I am a softy when it comes to my car .

Lol and how many mpg you get. I crawled in to work yesterday and only managed 16. It took me 1hour 10 mins to do 6 miles. I could have walked quicker but at least i loomed good and was nice and toasty inside my merc
