Can you retro fit a CD Player/radio to a 2016 Smart car? Why you may ask? Well everyone has their preferences. So can you?

Just looking at interior pictures of a 453 Smart .....the original head unit looks to be a slim/flat unit 'glued' to the dash. It doesn't look to me like a normal single or double DIN radio would fit.

You'd have to ask at a proper car radio place but I'd be surprised if there was a suitable unit, considering how slim the original is. I suspect you'll have to rip your CDs to your computer & transfer them to a memory stick

I am pretty sure you can replace with sat nav n hi fi one buys a d din cut out the bar then install system pretty sure I see that somewhere

I hav yet to find out more but when I look at pre 2009 it seems possible. I am currently looking at 2010/13 diesel versions looking another tomorrow.

Thank you for the replies. I have just bought a 2016 petrol version for my wife and the twinnamic gearbox is amazing. It changes seamlessly.

OK 2016 prob a bit new 4 me. Just lookin a 2nd runabout so don't need perfect. Just as good as 3.5 k can get.
