Can you take catalytic convertor off of 2002 c240 without causing problems

The front catalytic converters say the are clogged and would rather just remove if possible without causing check engine light to come on. I live in a state with no emissions regulations so that isnt an issue. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Also, I know it has 4, just want to remove the front 2.

No you can't as they are the primary cats.
