ive just discovered w210's were due for export in 95 to far east but cancelled and resold as new in 98!
how would you know if your 'r' plate was a 95 car?

That may help a little, but that is an interesting point that you make as I have dealt with 2 x 210's VIN 210026 that were sold in 99-2000 and the 210226 came out well before that.

Could that account for why some are so rusty and others are not

If you do not want the dimming mirror inside,disconnect the wire going to it,is it like it before you start the car

yes---mirror is completely messed up.cloudy with brown spots --all the time.i think i fried it!
i'm sure i must need a new one , or a clip on in the short term!

I have also been told that a fair number of 210's in this country were made in South Africa.They can be differentiated by the letter in the ch.no. apparently.

There must of been a glut of cancelled import cars around this time as I have heard the self same story regarding W202's.
I thought it was the w203 C class that was made in South Africa, we live and learn.

I'm sure there's something on here somewhere about these 202s.Can't find that either.

that explains my problems in a way then. mines a 2100252 but registered in 99. so id guess its a 95 built car then, am i right?
