Cannot find memory card

Used a 2017 c class recently with Sat Nav without issues. Yesterday evening I started the car and was presented with this message:

“no memory card containing software navigation inserted”

Why does this come up?

How does one fix this?

Take the (SD) card out, give it a magic rub, then reinsert

It happens on our QQ occasionally

Bad contact caused by dust possibly......

Didn’t need to do anything. Started the car and it’s worked. Strange.
