Car insurance premium for 2024/25 - massive rise!

Good morning: i drive a Sepetemebr 2016 E220d cabriolet. It is in nice condition. I also have access to a number of classic cars and my wife's Mini.

I have a clean driving licence and maximum NCB and have been with the broker / insurere for getting on for 40 years. 69 years of age, retiring in late 2022 so cover is comprehensive s,d&p. Nothing has changed policy wise.

The current year' premium was £344 and the new premium is £562 (63% rise). When i said this was too much they said it could be reduced to £534 (55% rise.)

I was told that the rise was due to inflation (!), admin cots rising, cost of repairs and theft.

Can anyone recommend a good policy for this day to day driver at around 12,000 miles per year?

I have an MG ZT 260 and Triumph TR4 on one policy with a Silver Shadow and Turbo 'R' on another. Both policies recommended by the TR Register and Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts Club and are ok but cannot match £75 for a policy. Any details you may wish to share please?

Don't think there can be one anymore, just take the cheapest policy that has what you want on it

Mine went up almost double with Direct Line. Called them and they dropped a bit.
Comparison sites dearer.
Ended up increasing the excess to £350 with Direct Line to get it to £715. £479 last year!

Have classic car insured, just renewed with Hagerty. Agreed value, recovery (including main land Europe) and legal expense protection, 190£
75£ would for very basic insurance with no agreed value (?)
House insurance has gone by around 20% Will have to check a comparison site.

My car insurance rose on the w220 and the w251 almost double for no reason at all last June. I will be taking one off road next year. It is ludicrous. The price quoted to @Nodrog007 above is eye watering.
