Car insurance premium for 2024/25 - massive rise!

Received a pleasant surprise this year from Admiral :

BMW 440i with mods + remapped - FC - £330

Porsche Cayenne Coupe with mods - FC - £330

So £660 all in for the multicar policy , which is over £100 less than last year.

On the flip side the house insurance went up by £150

I went with admiral this year , via confused.com .£614 . £594 with the £20 voucher for Halfords, which got me my leather cleaner kit from autoglym.

Not car but bike insurance, paid just over £100 last year, renewal came in at £155. Shopped around and got it for only £84!
Had to phone original insurer to cancel auto renewal and they said they could do it for £102 now, I said if you'd sent me that as my renewal I would just have paid it on the spot, but I've already went with the £84 quote now!

Whenever i switch to a new insurer i always make sure auto renewal is turned off.
They like to make out this feature is for the customers convenience, but that's bullcrap...its purely for theirs!

Swapped from LV to Swinton in June on the Volvo. I had been with them a couple of years as they were always the keenest of "known" insurers. LV had gone up £6 to £276 but a quick look round via confused.com got me a better policy with Swinton for £228 and a £20 voucher for 'er indoors'.... no contest... It pays not to be complacent just because the present insurer may be holding the same price as previous.
