Hi all
i have bought Mercedes Benz Carsoft 7.4 Diagnostic Interface MB (off ebay) and cant get the ****** thing working it is connected from the rs232 to the obd2 con on the car ml270 2001 it says moudule not built or does not respond i have installed as the instructions say and it is config on the rights ports
any one any advice please

I would recommend contacting the seller, I'm sure as a fully legal licensed version they will have customer support.

This message is a normal message. The ML does not have a lot of modules built-in, best step is to select Digital Test -> CDI -> Diesel which is built in!!! If this fails then there is a problem with the hardware because you get a different error if the computer cannot talk to the hardware via the RS-232!

Not all K-Lines are connected, only the ME is connected, your need to spend about £100 for the multi connector. The china made mutliplexor and cables are 3 wire.

Thats right but its wont be, the multiplexor is made in china so it garanteed not to work, and the Carsoft is hooky.

Before I purchase it, can I confirm it works.

Does it includes the software?

Bought a more expensive one but this version is multiplexed, the last one - £92. It said British, it actually another Shanghaish based in London. It still too much than buying from Shanghai after adding VAT when it arrived here. US$58 + $14

Will keep you posted whether it works.

Hi Guys, bought one with the same problem for A170CDI Year 2000, it wont do a digital test and analogue test keeps coming up with module not inbuilt any ideas, i need to reset a EPC light and any other errors, i have been in touch with seller and offered a replacment but i have to send this one back to china, it may be something silly to get it working so any advice, thanks

If you run it with Win98 it will not work. I bought the one with the multiplexer and it works with XP. I compared the port settings. In Win98, the flow --> Xon/xoff while in XP is none.

I believe you gone past the RS232 problem, your does not do all the tests but individual tests you have to activate it yourself one by one.

You will be surprised these modules do not exist. Of the 10 digital tests, only 3 or 4 are available, it correct. If you can do at least the Instrument Cluster and airbag tests, then the diagnosis tools work. If it still shows up can't connect to the modules you required then it something wrong. Do not do any analogue tests for it for cars before 1995 and further it may damage your car. I tried to do it on my 1997 W202, there are no analogue tests successful.

If you are not happy with it I suggest you buy the multiplexed version or the more expensive MB Star 2008 but it £900 or less if you are smart where to get it. I managed to bargain it to £375 but I feel it still expensive to part away with that kind of money I may not see the goods.

I have been negotiating with them for days at the alibaba.com website. It part owned by Yahoo and based in China. A good bargain if you can get thru the communication problem with the Chinese mostly in Shenshen.
