How do you get around the "colour" on your documentation saying "Silver" if you them have a temp wrap in say black or red for example??... do you have to change your reg document?

Interesting process though!! :D
you don't have to notify as it's not a permanent change.

As above as its a temp thing and removable the DVLA doesnt need to know, although you should tell your insurance company.

gkinghorn/cleverdicky... With the focus it was a boggo Focus ST with low mileage but knackered bodywork, he paid pennies for it and fitted genuine front arches, rear 1/4s and bumpers/skirts etc, bought gen frs alloys and wanted it to look like a focus rs500 (which came in matt black only). Wheel spacers were added to the rear and he fitted a gen.focus rs exhaust, looked amazing when it was done and he made a VERY tidy profit!!

fleetwood - indeed a bitch to remove! Around 4hrs on average as you have to be very careful.

gkinghorn - if it gets damaged simply remove the vinyl off of the panel and refit a new piece of vinyl....

bazzer1 - i'm not an official trader on here so cannot do quotations etc.... I don't know of any other local companies to you that offer the service but am sure Racoon are nationwide?

Kick starting this thread again, has anybody on the forum wrapped a car themselves or had it done? How did it go, how long did it take, how much did it cost either way?

Prices seem to have come down making this a very viable alternative to a paint job for the recently acquired 320 coupe with very poor/lacquer peeled paintwork. It needs quite a bit doing and a £1.5-2K paint job on top of all else might well kill it off.

Sorry about night time pics, but you can see damage better on roof pic.

The thing about a wrap is that it's a temporary covering with a typical lifetime of between 3 and 7 years. Compare that to a good paint job which will last decades and it's a no brainer. It really depends on how long you want to keep the car.

From my perspective a car like that is soon to be an appreciating classic so spending money on it can be viewed as an investment as opposed to a cost.

I do not like the mat finish much, if you are going to all that trouble, better to do it white with pink spots.

I've bought a small used car as an early Christmas present for the missus.

I asked how much it would be to have it wrapped, would you believe it was over a thousand quid!
I'm just going to put a bow on it.

The reason I would NEVER buy a wrapped car.
