I shall have to check the exact spec as the link says its a sprinter.

ive been told that a new inlet manifold has to be calibrated by Mercedes main dealer by a local MB indy, is anyone aware of this?

im about to strip mine down to clear it out etc and them telling me that has put me off a new manifold!

Nooo, it’ll work out the box. There is a calibration proceedure for the swirl flap motor, but I don’t think I’ve ever used it

As in even an aftermarket one? I've seen some on ebay for as little as £120!

Find it really strange that they have said that if it's not needed. I expected one to be 'plug in and play' so was quite surprised when they told me that

Lots ain't right. Plastic inlet manifolds is surely one of those! . Good old days one cud burn out the black shxte in a manifold. Putting flaps in a known dirty environment. With no simple method of a decoke. Is just asking for trouble as is not ensuring a trip for egr motor so one can fix it before it burns itself out.

. Rapidly become allergic to all things modern. That seem predominantly designed to require never ending expense and replacement.
In all things we seem to have moved from purchasing long living quality to buying more expensive goods that are statistically designed to just make it out of warranty.

Well ts certainly true. Companies would gone bust otherwise if they sold indestructible stuff.

Well. In yrs gone by many outfits produced quality stuff and market (population) was much much smaller now prob 10 or more times market size and mostly crxp produced. But the amount many ie apple ect make for the few is astronomical. The minx I will buy was not designed to last 50 yrs. It was just well built. If not it would not still be around. Mechanically and electrically simple lasts modern shxe just don't. We are being trained, guided to become lemmings, I exit stage left , miss the cliff.

Ti's the business model that ain't right... Not for owners anyway. I will look for tell tell sign of oil on oil cooler. I won't be buying manifold to get bolts that's for sure. I will research wot eats carbon n crap our of plastic manifolds without eatin manifold, oven cleaner perhaps?

It’s not just the bolt that snaps, the plastic manifold can get “eaten away” by gasses and leak boost pressure.
