Cash Reward paid-Stolen 500sl

My 1993 charcoal grey/black Mercedes 500sl was stolen at the weekend in Canonmills area of Edinburgh. It has distinctive 6 spoke 17inch alloys, matching hardtop and it is LEFT HAND DRIVE with BELGIAN number plate 4438E

Any information you have which results in the return (no questions asked) of my car will be rewarded.

It is a car that we have had in the family for a long time and it is quite rare in Edinburgh to see these cars about.

Very sorry to hear your news. You must feel really angry. I know I would.
I know we all moan about how complicated modern cars are getting, but at least increased anti-theft devices are now commonplace on recent models. Which is one reason why (relatively) older cars gets targeted nowadays. Modern cars are almost impossible to steal without the key - which is why I NEVER leave my spare key indoors. Most burglaries involve getting hold of the car keys. I always have my spare set elsewhere - and untagged.

As much as I hope you get it back if the low life that nicked it have damaged it then it could be better if you never see it.

I'm thinking that's an odd car to pinch though? LHD, Merc sports car (older model), on Belgium tags?? hardly blends in.

your car will no doubt have been stolen to order and be shipped out of the uk probably from a local port

I'll keep my eyes open in Glasgow area

PS - mercs of that age and class would prob. have had a tracking device fitted for ins. purposes. - may well be sat. device. suggest contacting vehicles original owner / supplier / tracker etc. the devices are always on and they can simply be searched for remotely .... they will occasionally charge a fee or hope you will renew with them...the Police sometimes insist the tracking companies reactivate the devices....

friend had his BMW 740 LHD recovered as it docked in middle east with a cargo load of other posh cars....
