Hi all, the electrically operated CD changer panel (although I don't have a CD changer it's only a cubby hole) on my 2004 W211 is refusing to open correctly. When the button is pressed it comes out about a quarter of an inch, makes a continual clicking noise and won't open any further. If you then give it a gentle pull it will open all the way. The panel closes perfectly well.

Any suggestions on what's wrong & how to go about fixing it would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks...................Joker.

Hi Malcolm, thanks for sending the papers. Don't think these are the right ones though...?
The fault is with the button operated electrical panel which houses heated seat switch, rear headrest reset switch etc, below the radio. It's this that keeps clicking and won't come out properly. It usually comes forward and then upwards to reveal a handy cubby hole!

Many thanks...............Joker.

Hi Malcolm, would you be able to send me the papers on removal of this assembly, and also the paper about identifying the Valeo rad too please?

Tried to get some silicon spray onto the mechanism but to no avail I'm afraid, it's still sticking.

Was good to meet up yesterday at Duxford.

Thanks again...........Joker.
