cd changer keeps cutting out

i have a merc clk230 1999 with audio 10 +cd changer factory fit
cd player keeps cutting out, and the screen displays "No cd" then sometimes if you turn off the head unit and, turn it back on then
the CD player will sometimes come back for short period of time
note everything else on the head unit works OK, ie radio and cassette player. I have checked all the connections they seem OK

Hi there - I have c230 Coupe Komp with all bells and whistles on it - had to have the COMAND replaced earlier this year (car now only 2 years old) - Since then have had MEGA probs with CD changer (6 cd changer - Bose sound kit blah blah...) I get NO Sound at all from radio/nav or CD when it cuts out - just message on screen CD saying CD Changer not found - it went into garage this morning (4th time) and they STILL don't know what's wrong with it......

Hi there - Car now back to MB for 5th (or is it now up to 6th ???) time - still same problem despite (so they tell me) replacing a £1000 amplifier and cleaning all the fibre-optic cables etc. Then when they run diagnostics test it comes back "all clear" then 24 hours later it's not working again - getting EXTREMELY unhappy with MB - if the fault is not able to be fixed then why don't they cut the c**p and replace the whole kit - I didn't spend >£3.5k on sat nav and bose sound system I can't actually use!! Hey guys - yes - you there at MB - can you DO SOMETHING ???!!!???

Have the same problem with cd changer in my 2004 CLK270. Guys at my Merc dealership tell that the chaps in Germany have put this fault down to a batch of defective Audio 10 heads. New heads will be available in week 39(next week). Try badgering your respective dealerships to speak to the guys at Mercedes Technical.
