Hi all and Merry Christmas to you all,

I've just picked up a new C220 CDI, with the single CD/radio system. I asked about the changer system that fits in the glovebox and was quoted £500 to supply and fit
On reading through the handbook I have read that the CD/radio isn't coded because it can only play in my car  My understanding of this is that only that radio will only be reconised by my ECU, please correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway I have seen brand new CD changers being sold on eBay with the correct part number for my year and model for as little as £200 :D Now I have asked the seller and he has told me it just plugs into the socket in the glovebox but from what I have read I would say that this may not be the case? :? Any idea's if this is right or wrong?

Hi All,

Spoke to the main dealer today, he say's that special mercedes software is required to enable the cars computor to reconise the changer system. Without this software the unit will not play/work! Has anyone else heard this or is this just a scam to part me with more hard earned?
