CD clicking during loading

My APS 30 unit makes a loud clicking sound sometimes when switched on and when CDs are loaded and removed. The click is frequent - about 4 per second - and I suspect it may be the CD loading mechanism.
Is this part replaceable and if so has anyone got instructions please?
