CD Multichanger problem

Can anybody help, I've got the standard 6 CD changer in the glovebox of my W209 CLK and one of the CDs seems to be stuck. I can see by looking down the side of the cartridge that CD5 is sticking out a bit. Now I can't eject the cartridge or change/play any of the CD's.

Does anybody know any tricks for getting things unstuck, the only button available to press is the eject button which just makes a wurring noise for a bit and gives up. Controlling it from the Comand console doesn't do anything either.
Help much appreciated

Have you tried gently persuading the CD back into positon by using a thin piece of plastic?

Short of taking it to pieces only try and re locate the disc with a thin blunt object as Jay Gee says

I have a distant recollection of a similar problem - and an equally distant recollection of how I fixed it - so don't do anything destructive until you have tried this.

I think I tried to open the sliding panel too early, or incompletely and that prevented the cassette cartridge from popping out. It was stuck fairly solidly.

I think the solution was to put it back together, as though you were completing the process of loading the cassette. Then switch on the CD and change to a different CD. Then switch off and try again to remove the cassette, carefully and in accordance with the instructions.

Because it is such a simple process I think I rushed it or cut a corner and that caused the problem. Starting over, as our colonial friends would say, solved it at no cost.

Or by using a very, very big hammer. ;)

Had this problem recently, No.4 kept sticking and by "playing" with all the buttons it came back to life, till last week! Nothing would get it to go, so took the unit out, opened it up and No.4 cartridge was "bu****ed! Took this one out completely, it just slides away and all's well. It now tries to load No.4, then moves automatically to 5, have to get a replacement sometime tho.

Hope this helps.

Memory is a strange thing. Did some of the mid 90's to mid 00's have a small EJECT / REJECT button that was accessed with a straightened paper clip.

Hatto, you might not have one fitted.

Ihave gone through the car with a fine tooth comb and I would agree with you. Nothing under the seats, nothing in the boot and all there wa in the glove box was a couple of pieces of electrical cable !!!! No matter there is a single cd player with the radio.
