Cd system on C180 - 2001 model

Hi thr,

I've bought a 2nd hand c180 2001 model yesterday. I was wondering whether my car has a cd changer or nt. It has got a 6 CD stacking on the glove box.. when i load the cds on that and play CD it say no cd! how do u chk that my car has cd changer on it?? and got one final question does the cd player support MP3 formats??

Are you pressing the cdc button rather than just the cd button.
i dont think it will play mp3s

May be a daft question but what does the changer look like and how do you load the CDs?
Assuming a sliding door and an ejectable cartridge then great, but we had a post a while back where someone had confused a cd holder for a cd changer so, if it's individual plastic drawers with little red indicators on them.......

Yes the CD changer is in the glove box, in order to test only use normal CD's and not home made versions

Did Mercedes ever sell a car with just the magazine (individual plastic drawers with little red indicators on them) in the glove box, as in my glove box I have just a magazine with no visible changer element (the bit with the sliding door).
