After putting a wastegate sensor, boost pressure sensor and a turbo on my sprinter cdi to cure a problem whereby on touching the throttle the boost goes up to nearly 3bar instantly the problem persists but a new fault code is coming up. One which didn't appear before the new turbo.

Fuel rail pressure fault,
on tickover the pressure is about 370Bar but according to the machine plugged in, when you take it down the road the best he can get out of it is 970, even when it is taking off like a rocket as per the original fault. I'm informed that this should be MUCH higher.

He's going to do more tests tomorrow after it's been stood overnight (which makes the problem he needs to recreate worse, or better in this case).

Any pointers?

Mercedes say it needs another 4 new injectors, a high pressure pump, and an ecu. Now, that's alot to fail suddenly in a travelodge carpark in Arundel if you ask me. Especially seeing as the injectors supplied by the same people are only 4 months old. Of course, they are not aware that the injectors are new and from them.

Sensor in the back of the rail? Or pressure sensor under the air filter, failing that open circuit, but this would show as that on star.

Hi all,

still not having any luck with this.

Checked out and replaced both of those sensors. It seemed ok for a few days but after a cold night (Wednesday) it acted up again, exactly the same.

Sounds odd, but, it hasn't had any diesel since the last fill up before it went wrong, but i did 240miles on it with a warm engine. Could there be something in it that's settling over night and freezing? causing this issue? I don't know, i'm just a bit lost now. My work where i need a van starts again in just over a week and i'm concerned that i've had 3 sensors put on it and got nowhere. The cost isn't too important i guess aslong as i get the thing on the road.

Just a thought, but have you checked the loom where it's cable tied on the engine mount and on the inlet manifold?
