In my quest to learn more about my cars (E240 ans 230SLK) I was thinking of buying these or similar. Anyone here ever bought these and if so were they as good as advertised?

Hi,

These look the same as the ones I bought from e-Bay last year. I am still learning to navigate through them and keep coming across new info all the time. The one advantage is that you can type in the chassis code and all the data from there on in is specific to that vehicle (although it may cover others as well). It's not easy to use but is about the only source I've found for the models not covered by Haynes but this manual is MUCH more comprehensive. One thing to note though is that it's written for MB techies and expects a reasonable level of ability - it's not for the beginner

500E
E320CDIT210 - both vehicles covered by the WIS manual and not by Haynes.:D

Thanks for the info Clive - I like to do as much as I can on my cars, I know sometimes it has to go to a dealer because of a lack of information available, so that's where I hope the CD's will come in useful - I'm quite new to the modern Mercedes (had a couple of 350SL's), but have 34 years experience with Ferrari, so I know my way round a car, although I know the Italians are very different to the Germans
