Hey everyone, i searched through existing posts on central locking but couldn't find an answer to my problem:
I have a 1990 w124 E230ce and the central locking has just failed, i.e stopped working completely.
Last week it worked fine, locked and unlocked all doors from both drivers and passengers door, then it stopped working on the drivers door followed by the passenger door a week later -
i suspect its the vacuum pump, but had a couple more queries: i replaced the battery last week, could this be the cause of the problem, did this blow something?
The fuse is intact, does the central locking operate via a relay too? i cannot see that it does on the haynes manual wiring diagram.
obviously the sensible thing would be to take out the motor and connect to 12v and check if it operates, but any other suggestions would be appreciated, know there have been 100's of threads on this subject, so apologise for bringing it up again
regards

p.s. forgot to mention this is all using the key in the door as it has no fob and i cannot hear the motor at all, so suspect it is either dead or getting no feed
