According to the handbook for my E320, locking either of the front doors or tailgate should also close any open windows and the sunroof if the key is held momentarily in the lock position, - but it doesn't! Any ideas?
Also does anyone know if any of the various fuel system/injector cleaners on the market are worth using?

Dont know about the injector cleaners but on the locking side of things, If you have chrome strips in your door handles, then you *will* have 'comfort' locking. If not, you don't.

You have to hold the key all the way over in the fully locked position untill all the windows & sunroof are closed.

On my car at least this works from the boot lock and the drivers door. I am not sure if it should work on the others or not.

There is also a function where you can hold the key in the fully open position where it opens all the windows and sunroof before you get into the car ....nice after your car has been stuck in the sun all day.

However, to make this work on my car, I have to hold the key in the locked position first and then move it over and hold it in the locked position before it behaves and opens everything.

Hope you can make it work.

You need to hold the key in the lock position for maybe five seconds before it starts to work, and keep it there until all windows and sunroof are closed.

central locking convenience feature on '95 E320 (W124)

thanks spike and doug, for replies received re: comfort/convenience window and sunroof closure Have now discovered that my parking light feature doesn't work either. Could this be connected to the other problem. there is a 'convenience' relay and module, the former under the bonnet with other relays, and the latter under the left hand rear seat, (it's got 'motorola' on it) Any ideas?

I thought my comfort closure did'nt work either, but what I found was whilst the car will un/lock by remote control if I'm standing within a 6-7meter radius of the car. The windows will only close if I point the remote control DIRECTLY at the small infrared window on the drivers door handle.

I always wondered why I had this little window on the handle.

I've used Miller's diesel additive and a cheaper Redex version; I think they both helped to clean up the system and make the engine smoother. But then, that's what they are supposed to make you think...

comfort close

comfort closing is only avialable via INFA RED function you must be within a few feet of the car and point the remote at the door handle press and hold unlock and doors will unlock and windows and sun roof open. (IF you are lucky)
