Can anyone offer me some advice please ?

Last week I bought a 1991 230TE, all was well until today when the central locking decided to play up, and using my key will only open the door in which the key is placed, the back doors remain closed as does the boot.... there doesn't seem to be any pattern to this, one minute it was working the next it isn't..... any ideas / advice will be much appreciated.

I assume you are trying to open the car from the driver’s side door? Try to open from the passenger’s side to see if the same fault occurs. If the same fault occurs then it is most likely that the fault lies within the Pneumatic Supply Pump located in the trunk. If it’s just one door causing the fault then it’s most likely to be the Electrical Function of the Pneumatic Actuator located in the door - It’s what the lock’s knob attaches to and send an electrical signal to the pump. - A car of this age can have corrosion or a loose connection causing it to work 1 minute and not the other!
